"You can't catch anything, can ya?"
We continue our Fox and Crow marathon with another wonderful entry in their series. It's their second cartoon, the first directed by Wickersham and not by Tashlin and the first time both characters are voiced by Frank Graham (the man behind Tex Avery's Wolfie). "Woodsman" also features beautiful backgrounds and some great animation by Emery Hawkins of the Fox singing "Woodsman spare that Tree" and both removing Crow's "poisonal" belongings from the tree.
The restoration of this one is really good.
See Youse,
Andrea

These are great! Just out of curiosity, is the letter "B" in the upper left-hand corner of the screen short for "Boomerang"?
Given the fact that Sony is really cranking out Columbia's classic film library (three volumes, thus far, of the 3 Stooges sets plus the Sam Katzman "B"-Pictures) these days, can a "Fox and Crow" DVD set be far behind? Let's hope not.
Thanks for posting these, Andrea; the picture and sound quality is much better here than on YouTube!

One of the first things I noticed when I first saw this short a few years back is how beautifully it is laid out - the backgrounds look great!! I'm sure Zack Schwartz did them...
Did anyone notice the Crow's foot/leg turns black when he is winding up the toy mice??
