Clampett Celebration : "Draftee Daffy"

"Draftee Daffy" is another of Clampett's great cartoon.
And it is full of wild and wacky takes, a trademark of Clampett's best 40s shorts.
Here you have assorted shots from the cartoon.
We start with Daffy speaking at the phone. Do compare this scene with a similar one in THE GREAT PIGGY BANK ROBBERY and see how wackier the same situation was animated after only one year!

Here you have some wild reactions of Daffy when he sees the terrible " little man from the draft board " !

What follows is my favorite sequence in the cartoon.

I'm rather sorry that I've only just now learned about the genius of Rod Scribner. His artistry goes right to the heart of why these films are delightful, hilarious and ageless. Thanks for making this available!

Great stuff!
You won't believe how happy it makes me to see Rod Scribner stills from old Clampett cartoons!
I used to freeze frame Draftee Daffy all the time simply because I could tell there were tons of whacky drawings in it.
Thank you soooo much for this Blog!

Is it just me, or did Clmapett leave at his peak? His cartoons were getting better and better as the years went by!

That's what I always thought, Jorge.
One can only wonder what he could have do next.

I cant say I even knew the name but I sure reconize everything I am seeing and feeling all these feelings and thoughts I havent felt in years and years. Un beleiveable at how just the sight of something can remind you of smells a well as sight and sound. I think sI save almost your whole blog nd have read the whole thing 2 this is one I am going to follow as a groupie I think lol. I am harmless I thought my bullmastiffs were the cutest, not anymore. Now that I saw all of these I have to say good ole fashion cartoons are still the most adorable way TV was made to be. Not at all what it has came about in the last 16 yrs that for sure! No sure if I am complaining, however I do know the rate of crime sure wasnt as high back then with a good old pupnch them out kncok em dead ole fight! Just like in the cartoons, maybe hit one another with a rolling pin but not guns here and gune there or drugs here or disease there:) Such inocense you brought back:)
