Scrap Happy Daffy
"Scrap Happy Daffy" has always been a favorite of mine since I was a child. Not only it shows all the cuts and cinematographic techniques Tashlin was so famous and celebrated for, but it also includes no less than two original songs created just for the short. A lot of fun is to try to understand the lines of the first song, when Daffy fastly and wildly enumerates all kind of objects that can be used for the scrap campaign.
For years I had to watch on TV a copy that started with the title card and ended with a "The End" card never used for any WB classic cartoon, omitting the iris out in the process. Guess the same happened to you, folks.
Enjoy this marvellous copy of the cartoon.

Indeed the cartoon looks absolutely amazing on the Looney Tunes Golden Collection Volume 5. The sequence in which Daffy confronts the goat wearing glasses is hysterical.

Do you know what's the opening music for this cartoon? is it ''this is worth fighting for''?

Yes,
that's the music!

I remember you already added this cartoon in your blog before. But it's still a cool cartoon with many great wartime songs. :-)

Hi Martin,
Nope. Never added this before. I started recently to post videos on my blog.

Ah alright!

I miss the screen shots, are they gone for good?

Posts with shots will be more rare because I'll be extremely busy starting from April to the end of my life.
Posts themselves will be more rare too.

What delights me more than anything in this cartoon is Daffy's complete rendering of "We're In To Win", a tune heard only in an instrumental version at the beginning of the more well-known "Falling Hare", the Bugs Bunny 'toon with that nasty Gremlin (Ha-ha-ha-ha, ha-ha-haaah!!).
