Wolfie's antics by the one and only Walt Kelly
It is now no mistery that one of my favorite cartoon character is Famous' Wolfie, expecially for the marvellous Berth Lahr's "Cowardly Lion"-like characterization provided by Sid Raymond.
Here we have "our hero" in a comic story drawn by none other than Walt Kelly. David "God's gift to animation and comics fans" Gerstein provided these beautiful scans and here I am, sharing them with you.
Note how Wolfie resembles Goofy, expecially Barks' version of it.
Best,
Andrea

Wolfie resembles Zeke Wolf so much here it's crazy.

I should add that this is another one that Kelly most certainly didn't ink; though his style is again obvious in the staging and particularly certain character close-ups (the squirrel on the last page, to be sure!).

Not to offend anyone, but on pages 4 & 5, the plumber disguse looks like the Big Bad Wolf's brushpeddler disguse in Disney's "Thee Little Pigs":

Hey Andrea,
I didn't notice this before, but Wolfie's disguise actually looks a lot like Bugs' Dr. Killpatient getup from Hare Tonic (he has the hat, the glasses, and the beard. Doesn't look much like Zeke Wolf's Jewish disguise to me)
